Global Warming My A$$…

by Kate |June 26th, 2009

“If you don’t like New England weather, wait a minute.” The weather in the Boston area is as changeable as it is unpredictable. Unfortunately, this old saying has not applied for the month of June. It has rained 18 out of 22 days and, the temperature has been consistently below normal. So, where is this global warming that everyone is talking about?

Now, I am no scientist but, doesn’t warming indicate heat? The temperature dropped into the 40’s last night, Its June! I am cold; I want to use my boat. I want the severe heat and, I want the rain to stop. I wonder how I as an individual can help, you know…expedite the process. Maybe release some carbon dioxide in the atmosphere; I just want to do my part. I want the warmth and I want it now.

The boating season here in the Northeast is already too short. Add the lack of global warming and well, it’s downright depressing. I am quite sure that once this “cold spell” passes, July and August will be stifling, it usually is. It’s just the way it is here around here. But, I would rather buzz around on my boat in stifling 90 degree weather than in the drizzly cold, rain. This too shall pass.

Are you as bummed out as I am over the weather in June? Go to the forums and comments and vent your frustration! Or, have you braved the seas anyway, please let us know…..stay tuned for boat buzz at it’s best.
